This case study highlights my UX/UI design work at OTORIO on two products — RAM², an OT cyber risk management platform, and remOT™, a secure remote access solution. As the sole designer, I led the design from research to ship.
Understanding the products
A deep dive into the products, their technical aspects, user profiles, and the OT cybersecurity landscape was paramount to begin the design process. This understanding formed the foundation for the work that followed.
Deep dive
Mapping the landscape
OT (operational technology) security is its own discipline — different jargon, different user mental models than enterprise IT. The first phase was learning.
RAM²
Risk management at a glance
RAM²'s user interface was designed to allow users to intuitively manage, assess, and mitigate cyber risks. The design focuses on presenting complex data in an easily digestible format.
RAM²
Detail when you need it
Big picture by default; deep-dive views available when a risk needs investigation.
remOT™
Secure remote access
A separate product surface for the secure remote access workflow, sharing the design system with RAM² for consistency.
The intuitive design resulted in a 29% decrease in the time taken to identify and respond to cybersecurity threats.
Design system
A uniform language across products
A uniform design system was vital for consistency across all products. This system covered color palettes, typography, iconography, form and input designs, and reusable components.
